Southern Mamas

I have the sweetest, most loving, can fry anything, sew anything, never meets a stranger, her door is always open ........  mama. She would never steer you wrong & only wants the best for her family.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a little "fluffy", "big-boned", "full-figured" .... but I like to think of myself as a little  "Voluptuous"!

Of course I know that my mama would love for me to "slim down" a bit.  She doesn't even have to say it, I know she thinks it. Because the first time she just mentioned it, I flew off the handle :) It's my prerogative to be a little testy with my "fluffiness".

Here is my dilemma ~ As much as my sweet mama would like me to be skinny, she doesn't really help the process any. For example, this week she had all of her kids over for supper & some friends of the family. There was 13 of us total (normally there is 9).

Here was the menu:
*Ribs *BBQ Chicken *baked beans *Salad *Corn *Potato wedges *fluffy rolls

Supper was great! And there was still leftovers after everyone was done - so she makes entirely too much food, because she would never want anyone to go hungry.  The more you eat of her cookin' the better she feels.

Here was the dessert menu:
*Coconut Cream Pie *Apple Pie *Pecan pie *Brownies *Ice Cream with Hershey's Syrup
Am I the only one that sees a problem with all of this?
I know it's my own fault that I have a little extra "junk in my trunk" but with meals like this, do you blame me?  I could have had super self-control & stuck with just a salad, but that would have broke my sweet mama's heart. And as a good southern girl knows, there is nothin' worse than breaking your sweet mama's heart.
